MIKE OLINGER

PRESIDENT

As the current president of GCON, Mike Olinger advises the company through strategic growth and monitors the balance of customer service, employee well-being, and organizational performance.

Growing up in the trades, Mike’s dad who was a plumber, encouraged him to go to college. Trying to figure out a way to pay for college, at the age of 19, he bought his first business in his home state of Wisconsin—a sporting goods store that he quickly transformed into the only Nike dealer in a 60-mile radius. Selling it four years later, he was able to pay for college and obtained a degree in business administration from the University of Montana. For the next nine years, he served in various roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Oregon, preparing him to take on the role of President and CEO at one of the largest industrial mechanical contractors in the Pacific Northwest. Mike positioned the company as a strong regional player through expansion into new industrial sectors, with revenue increasing 4x during that period. Transitioning to the healthcare sector, Mike applied his expertise in strategic growth within senior care facilities. He advised on a series of acquisitions and debt financing leading that company to growth surpassing 300% within five years. Retiring in 2009, Mike dedicated his time to board involvement and other entrepreneurial efforts. In 2014, while sitting on the board of directors of an Oregon-based contractor, Mike met Mike Godbehere, who, only one year later, invited him to come alongside GCON as a consultant and advise on growth.

Officially coming out of retirement in 2020, Mike once again took a leadership role and joined GCON full-time as president. Described as an eternal optimist, Mike leads with positivity and focus. He guides the company with care and experienced certainty, bringing assurance to GCON’s people and partners nationwide.
