We see it as both a responsibility and a privilege to invest in future leaders who may one day join GCON, but more importantly, who will join the world of construction.
Our internship program gives students real-world experience while equipping them with tools, relationships and confidence to position their path after graduation. Every intern is paired to a project, tasked to observe, ask questions and immerse themselves 100%.
Introducing the Rebranded GCON Elevate Internship Program
This year, we’re proud to officially rebrand our internship initiative as the GCON Elevate Internship Program—a name that captures our core purpose of empowering futures and growing opportunities.
GCON Elevate reflects our goal to prepare these young individuals for a challenging, rewarding career path and set the standard for how to effectively blend real-life experience with classroom material. “This summer marks the first official cohort under the new Elevate name,” says Jenna Everist, Director of the Elevate Internship Program. “The buy-in we have from leadership and the cooperation from our teams to mentor these interns contributes to the momentum of this program. We’re excited for what’s ahead!”
From Interns to Industry Leaders: The GCON Legacy
Our internship journey began 8 years ago with just two interns—both of whom are now full-time GCON employees leading some of our most impactful projects. Their growth reflects our commitment to professional development and internal advancement.
Since then, our program has evolved into a comprehensive structured recruitment and training experience, one that integrates:
- 12 weeks of immersive project-based work
- Weekly development sessions with team members, executives, and even clients
- Real-world exposure across departments
- Active mentorship from our seasoned professionals and builders
Our interns don’t just shadow—they contribute. They build important relationships with teammates, subcontractors, and clients alike, helping to shape their long-term career path while adding value to our operations. They learn how to build a network and establish their reputation early.
